I think web will be most helpful for my career because mostly all careers require some use of the web and computer. I enjoyed photo shop so I would use that for fun and in my spare time.

dream job

If I graduated with my degree today, my dream job would be nursing. My title would be a nurse anesthetist.

Robot video

The video of the robot was cool. It is fascinating that the robot can do many human like motions like dance, hold a cup, and walk. I would like to have more of those robots in the future because they would be fun to have around and play with. The topic for my video is campus safety.

capstone presentation reflection

Overall, my capstone presentation went well, I felt like I explained myself clearly to the judge and made good eye contact. I did not expect it to be so loud and I thought I was going to be more nervous when presenting to the judge, but I was not. If I could do my capstone presentation over again, I would have uploaded my essay to my website because the judge asked me if I had a works cited page and I had forgotten to bring a copy of my capstone essay.

PSA Videos

My favorite PSA video was the one about bullying and how it effects people. It was my favorite PSA video because it was short, but very effective of getting the message across. The message was clear and the way they portrayed how bullying harms people was very dramatic and realistic so that is what made the PSA good. I enjoyed the video about the story board and I liked the different camera shots, but I thought it was boring.

Capstone Video

For my capstone video I plan to create a video that advertises and explains what my app is. My app is my end product so in my video I am going to explain what it is, who it is for, and my goals for the app. I plan to make my capstone video about two to three minutes long. I am going to create my video by drawing animated pictures to represent the ideas that will be in my app.

Photoshop effect

The use of photo shop on people is out of control because it is not possible to look that flawless and perfect. The appearance of people after they have been photo shopped is not realistic and I am aware that mostly all of the photos in magazines are photo shopped. I think pictures in magazines should be less photo shopped to have a more ideal and realistic appearance. If people see that not everyone is perfect then I think it would decrease the pressure for young girls to try and lose weight or change their appearance.

TED

The Ted talk showed that anyone can discover new things, inventions, and solve mysteries about the world. The Ted talk went back into history and showed how different scientists discovered new things by asking simple questions which led to bigger discoveries. The Ted talk showed these examples to send a message to the viewers that we do not have to be a genius to discover new things that have never been discovered for. Anyone has the ability to discover new things about the world.

About my capstone website

My capstone website is about hospice so I used spring colors like red and lime green. I have a flower as the background on my pages and a slideshow of a couple pictures on the home page to make my page cheerful and welcoming. My website is more serious than humorous and my site is persuasive because I explain the problem by explaining my personal experiences with the topic. I included a solution tab so my ideas can be understood and show what I am trying to do. I am planning to create an app as my end product and have my website as a tool to explain the reason for the app.

GAP & Facebook video

I liked the sketches and animation on the Facebook and thought it was neat how the video was like a timeline for the special dates of Facebook. The second video, Gap, was also creative by telling a story. The message of the video was to never give up even when you feel like you are not accomplishing much. Everything that is worth having and doing takes time, hard work, and dedication.

The video we watched was very helpful in showing me the different elements that go into making a website and how the internet runs. On the outside websites look simple and easy to put together, but when you look at the source, it is actually more than what you think. It requires a lot of planning and detail of how you want things to look, where you want them, the type of fonts, colors, and much more.

Video comment

The video was a good way to bring awareness to people about how much of their life is online and available for anyone to see. Most people are not aware of how important it is when posting personal information online for anyone in the world to see. The video shows people that it is easy to have your identity stolen or fraud done under your name. After watching the video it will definitely make me think twice about the information that I put online about myself.

Capstone Project-Blog one

A) My main goal for my capstone project is to create a support group for hospice caregivers so they will be able to have someone they can go to for advice or just someone they can talk to.
B) It is important because the hospice caregivers are taking care of their ill loved ones and it is very stressful and can be depressing for them. We should care because anyone could be in this position and it is beneficial to the caregivers and may lower their stress.
C) These goals fit with my career objectives because I want to become a registered nurse and nurses help, care for, and see people on a daily basis.
D) My project gives back to society because it is directly helping people by helping them deal with their challenges.
E) My project relates to teaching because for those who are not familiar with hospice will be able to learn more about what it is and how it works. My project relates to learning because while doing research over my  project I will learn more about hospice. Lastly, my project will serve as a support system for hospice caregivers so it is good for community building.
